Pani’s café was opened in 1995 by two enterprising brothers from Sardinia.
It was one of the first Italian style cafe’s in Newcastle and is as authentically Italian as you can get without actually going to Italy.
What makes Pani’s so special? Is it that we aren’t just another Italian restaurant, we’re Sardinian. Or is it the informal, continental atmosphere, the ‘buzz’?
And about that menu: where else can you get genuine Sardinian pasta’s like Malloreddus and Fregola or wines like Vermentino and Cannonau.
The café is staffed by a family of brothers and sisters who are brimming with continental charm and style, with the sweetest Geordie-Italian accents you’ve ever heard.
Pop in during the day for a quick snack, a life-affirming espresso and watch the world go by or drop by at night for a few drinks and something special from our evening menu.
Pani’s offers you the chance to experience Italian home cooked food and to savour an authentic Italian coffee in a convivial atmosphere. A little piece of Italy in the heart of a beautiful city!!!.
We look forward to seeing you in Pani’s then. All together now!
From the Pani’s Family.
