"Pani's is one of the places in Newcastle where you can buy authentic, delicious Italian panini (sandwiches) and pasta dishes. "

"This tiny Italian café offers home-cooked food and a chance to savour an authentic espresso in a convivial atmosphere."

"The only place to go for coffee in Newcastle. I have been a regular customer for years and have never been disappointed with any aspect. The best bit after the coffee is the staff - everyone is friendly and professional"

Tony

"Don't bother eating anywhere else - this is the place for fresh food, beautifully cooked and dished up by the friendliest staff in town."

"I visit Newcastle for three weeks every year with Opera North and we love Pani's. (it is just around the corner from the Theatre Royal) This week I was in Newcastle for just five days and ate nowhere else. We actually had a discussion about why and decided that it was quite simple.... The food just tastes so good! Also the friendly and attentive service is perfect - just a shame that we have to work and can't comment on the wine list"

"This cafe is THE cafe of cafes if you\’re in Newcastle city centre. It's excellent food, glorious atmosphere and amazing prices make Panis one of, if not the best, restaurant I know of. This site says that the average cost per head is £20, ignore this. I have been several times and can get a lasagne, ice cream and 2 soft drinks for £7.50!"

"Pani's is without a doubt the best Italian restaurant in Newcastle. The brothers who own it actually come from a village near where I used to live in Sardinia so I may be biased, but the food is exceptional. The prices are amazing. For lunch times its great, you could be in and out in 15 minutes providing you could finish in time, the portions are huge. It isn’t the best place for an evening meal if your wanting to spend hours there though as the seats aren’t really designed for long dining. "

"Pani's is a genuine Italian in the heart of the city centre serving a unique niche with its high quality lunchtime menu. Meeting the need of those wanting great quality, but fast efficient service, Pani's also serves the best coffee in town. You'll often find a queue at lunchtime and be prepared to speak Italian as the majority of its staff does come from Italy. Pani's also runs a free Italian class one evening a week, which you can go to and learn while drinking a glass of Chianti in cosy surroundings."
